It has been sometime since my last post. There has been a great deal of transition, but all is very well now! Here is my painting for the Beautiful Grim. This is painting is dedicated to all women who have been stricken with breast cancer. As many of you know, I have first hand experience with this horrible disease. I painted this with acrylics. Another piece done! Trying to get as much done as possible before teaching starts up. Some of you will recognize the model. Much love to Kirk! One of the best models I have ever worked with. I wanted to go more realistic on this one, basically I wanted an excuse to render something! Ill3 this semester saw the rough draft demo. It took a little longer than I expected.

6D Art Pen Studies

Here are a couple of real quick studies using the 6D art pen from wacom. About 15-20 minutes on each. I love the pen, you can get a lot of variation in brush strokes, just by rotating the pen. I have shown some of you this technique in class.

Pastel Horse Study

Here is my first official post. This is a study done in pastels. I picked up some Sennelier pastels in Paris last summer, with the intent to do more traditional painting. Well needless to say some months have gone by and they have collected quite a bit of dust. Finally, I broke them in. I almost forgot how good it feels to touch real media. Hopefully, I will do a few more in the coming year.
